Cantilever Drilling Barge is one of the rig design concepts for shallow water environments.
- Water depth range: 3 – 7m
- Low environmental impact
- Suitable for ice. This is a development of the swamp barge, but nothing this big has been considered before.
- Not efficient for drilling single wells – primary purpose is multiple wells for development.
- Barge strips can be fabricated locally, but assembly could be problematic due to sheer size. Very high capex. Massiveness of barge makes shallow water access doubtful.
